The Secret of Success

Success is an strange animal. It is something that can be so precise, yet so different. What success means to me, may not be the same for you. How do you define success?

For many it is spelled $ucces$. I must admit that I have been part of that many, and sometimes even still see myself envious over what I perceive as someone else's successes. Wealth can't by you happiness, so how can having it be deemed successful?

For other's it is power. One of the major snags that comes into this argument is that for many who become powerful, they have had to push down someone else. It is hard to celebrate a success like this when there is no one left to celebrate with you.

So how do we know the secret of success? According to John C Maxwell, success is:

1. Knowing your purpose in life
2. Growing to reach your maximum potential
3. Sowing seeds that benefit others

Notice that there is no one event that can define it. The second and third steps clearly are open ended. This means success is never ending, it is a journey. But how many of us never even get past the first step and start our journey.

Everyone has a purpose. God made every man, woman and child with a purpose. What is yours? If you don't know, then I recommend that you talk to your creator and find out.

Once you do, then you will begin to see a glimmer of what true success is, as you continue to grow, and see others growing from you. But your true success review will come when the Lord has called you home.

Will you hear, "Well done thou good and faithful servant." If so, then you have truly found the Secret of Success.
